Benson Electrical Contracting Completes Project in Melrose Park

Retail construction is a specialized discipline that requires an experienced electrical contractor with proven experience, exceptional skills, and a solid reputation. It’s for this reason Benson Electrical Contracting was selected to provide complete electrical construction services for the new Goodwill Industries retail and donation center in Melrose Park.

The new facility spans over 18,000 square feet and showcases a completely updated look and feel as part of the company’s transition to a modern aesthetic with wood grain, brass fixtures, and a warm color palate. Shoppers and donors will enjoy a safe, contemporary shopping experience and can expect to find a great selection of items, all donated from the local communities Goodwill serves.

Construction began at the end of November 2020 with the installation of a new 12000amp service and 400amp fire pump service. As construction continued, both Interior and exterior lighting were installed along with all power needs required for this busy retailer. All this, while following required safety protocols.

“Goodwill is excited to become part of the Melrose Park community to have the opportunity to serve its residents,” said Dan Michael, vice president of retail stores and donation centers. “Beyond providing an outstanding shopping experience for our customers, we are creating jobs and awareness about our mission. We look forward to getting to know our new neighbors.”

Benson Electrical Contracting is proud to be helping Goodwill Industries help communities thrive.
