Benson Electrical Contracting Announces New Owner and President
Tim Cunningham assumes leadership following Marconi’s tenure
Commercial electrical construction firm, Benson Electrical Contracting, has announced new ownership of the company and the promotion of Tim Cunningham from senior estimator to president, effective September 16, 2020.
With a legacy of over 35 years of growth and service to Northwest Chicago suburban businesses, Cunningham – who is currently celebrating his twenty second year of service with Benson – follows founder, Jim Benson and previous owner and president, Vicki Marconi, in leading the company.
No stranger to the electrical needs of commercial properties, Tim is a 26-year veteran of the industry. He began his career as an IBEW apprentice electrician in 1994 and launched his career with Benson as a fifth-year apprentice shortly after. He moved on as a project estimator with the growing firm in 2015 before assuming ownership of the company today.
Tim lives in Harvard with his wife Salina and their two children. Aside from running a growing business, he continues to provide positive, wide-ranging, and active participation in his children’s lives while also supporting professional electrical contractors within the industry and to the public. “Yes, it’s an exciting time for the company. Yet my career has always required me to stay on top of trends, changes, and deliverables in our industry and I’m proud to use these skills to take Benson Electrical Contracting to its next level”, stated Cunningham.
