Smalley in Lake Zurich

Directional boring, also known as horizontal directional drilling (HDD), is often used in the installation of utility pipelines and conduits for electrical service. Benson Electrical Contracting recently completed a project at Smalley, a world leader in the manufacturing and development of industrial products, thanks to this technology.

This extensive project consisted of installing 1,290 feet of 4-inch HDPE pipe and switchgear foundation for new ComEd switchgear at the company. Working with Construction by Camco, who performed the directional boring, Benson Electrical Contracting was able to successfully perform the project that enabled this company to power up and expand its services.
